HiView and FutureWater recently contributed to a successful expedition to the Nepalese Himalayas. This was the second mission after October and repeat flights were conducted with an Unmanned Aerial Survey System on large glacier. Based on this second mission it will now be possible to compare the situation in May with October and based on the digital elevation models the researchers hope to quantify the melt and the flow velocity of the glaciers. Dr. W.W. Immerzeel coordinated the expedition which was jointly executed with Utrecht University, ICIMOD and ETH Zurich. In addition to the flights the team also installed pluviometers at high altitude and a runoff gauge.
