Reinier Koster is a hydrologist with over 5 years of experience in water resources management and surface water- and geohydrology. He is an advanced technially oriented hydrologist using a variety of models and tools to support clients in their decision making. He has worked in-person in several countries including Egypt, Germany, Ghana, Rwanda and The Netherlands. He has also contributed to many international projects in countries such as Angola, Cambodia, China, Gabon, Georgia, Kenia, Mozambique and Myanmar.
Reinier enjoys working in close collaboration with clients and colleagues from different countries and continents on projects in the fields of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), flood risk and water allocation and planning. Reinier has advanced skills in several different tools and models including hydraulic and hydrological models, GIS applications and programming languages (e.g. WEAP, SPHY, Sobek2 (1D, 1D-2D), Sobek3, iMOD, ArcGIS, QGIS, R, Rshiny, Rmarkdown and Python). Reinier is currently a consultant / researcher Hydrology at the FutureWater office in Wageningen.
